Hempcrete Basics, Yestermorrow School, Waitsfield, VT

Hempcrete Workshop at Yestermorrow Design/Build School

Dive into the world of plant-based building materials with Yestermorrow's introduction to Hempcrete, a bio-composite material created from the woody core of the hemp plant combined with a lime-based binder that can be used for construction and insulation.

Trusted around the world as a robust, high-performance sustainable building system, Hempcrete entered the US market a decade ago and is poised to take the natural building industry by storm because it is non-toxic and flame, water and pest resistant.

Join us and learn how to make Hempcrete, and join a growing community of radically responsible industry stewards!

Instructors:

  3. Use hempcrete as a monolithic solid-wall construction material for building carbon-beneficial envelopes as an alternative to current fossil-fuel based assemblies used in high performance buildings.

  4. List complementary, low-cost material solutions to reduce toxins in the building and improve the healthfulness of a building
