Lotus will join an international group of panelists and experts presenting solutions for  the climate crisis and social inequality in an interactive class/seminar to teach and inspire participants to reimagine the future.

"I'm excited to present hemp building materials to a new audience as a solution that can change the future of the built environment and create carbon-zero structures," Lotus said.

Called the "Prophet of Dystopia," award winning-Canadian author Margaret Atwood is an avid student of authoritarian movements in human history and is author of multiple works of fiction including the 1985 novel The Handmaid's Tale and The Testaments. Her non-fiction includes most recently Burning Questions, released in 2022. She is known for her fierce defense of free speech as a board member of the international author's group PEN.

But Atwood also looks at how the future can be shaped by the actions of changemakers today.

“There isn't ‘the future’ that we're doomed to enact. There are all kinds of possible futures. And which one we're going to get is going to depend on what we do now,”   Atwood said.

The class invites participants to collaborate within a virtual classroom to unlock practical solutions to some of humanity's greatest challenges while developing crucial skills to be a more creative, innovative, and effective change agent today.
The online event is sponsored by Project Drawdown, Sustainable Development Solutions Network, SDG Academy, Indigo and others.
