Hemp building materials were featured at the SXSW Climate Change conference March 11 in Austin, TX, and the hemp building community came together to raise money to build refugee hempcrete housing in Ukraine.

It was during a natural building workshop halfway around the world that I came to realize how close we are, yet how far we’ve strayed from building our own homes.

A big part of my intention is to create home designs that are timeless and elegant, yet practical and healthy for the occupants and the planet.

The DIY Hex Hemple was developed for a client in Hawaii where the regulations allowed for a structure under 120 sq. ft. to be built without building department approval.
